Indonesia’s Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) continues to strengthen the national halal ecosystem by signing several strategic partnerships with national and international partners. The partnerships signed include a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA), a Recognition Agreement (RA), and cooperation to strengthen halal product assurance (JPH) with universities.

The first collaboration was the signing of an MRA between BPJPH and the Moroccan Institute of Standardization (IMANOR) of the Kingdom of Morocco, providing mutual recognition of halal certificates from both countries.

BPJPH also signed RAs with several foreign halal institutions that have met the standards of the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH). These include the WHAD Italian Halal Certification Center, Global Halal Systems France, GL Halal Center Korea, FUIN Halal Certification Center China, and Shanghai Museling Testing and Certification.

According to the Agency, cooperation between countries and institutions will further strengthen trust and mutual recognition of each country's halal system. This will, in turn, lead to more open and streamlined trade in halal products between countries.

It was also mentioned that the current development of the global halal industry demonstrates a major shift in how the world views halal products. Halal products are no longer understood solely as a means of fulfilling sharia law but have evolved into a symbol of quality and global standards. The increasing number of countries is making the halal industry a key part of their national trade and industrial development strategies.

In addition to international collaboration, BPJPH also signed a JPH cooperation agreement with Raden Fatah State Islamic University in Palembang. This synergy is part of institutional collaboration on the national level.
