On 20 February 2025, it was issued in the Gazette from Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) the amendment of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code that includes the approval of Vitamin K2 (as menaquinone-7) as a permitted form of vitamin K in food for special medical purposes.

Last year, after an application made by an interested company to FSANZ, the draft version was opened for comments, with the latest version approved in December and its final publication done now in February 2025..
