Eugenia presented the largest regulatory developments in Argentina, focusing on recent changes to the import process for food products approved by internationally recognised agencies such as the US FDA and EFSA. She highlighted how procedures for market access have been adjusted for products from countries classified as having high sanitary surveillance. Patricia Castilho outlined how recognising approvals by equivalent foreign authorities could accelerate Brazil's approval processes for new ingredients and foods. Together, they discussed the potential implications of these regulatory shifts at Mercosur level.

The panel was moderated by Alexandre Novachi, Director of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs at the Brazilian Association of Food Industries (ABIA) and Luiza Zanatta from NutriLíder.
