On 22 May, the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Climate Change and Environment submitted a guideline to the World Trade Organization titled “National Guide to the Registration of Regulatory Authorities and Food Establishments Exporting to the United Arab Emirates.”
This guide applies to accredited food establishments located outside the United Arab Emirates that export food to the country. It outlines the registration requirements for these establishments based on risk assessments, aiming to identify potential food safety issues before products reach the United Arab Emirates. It also assesses whether these establishments meet the food safety standards set by regulatory authorities, ensuring the supply of safe food in line with international best practices.
