The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) released Circular No. FS-CIR-004-V1/250515 establishing mandatory requirements for transporting food products. The regulation aims to safeguard food safety and public health throughout the distribution chain.

Key provisions include mandatory licensing and clear labelling of transport vehicles for food use, as well as strict temperature controls based on product type (chilled, frozen, or ambient). The circular also outlines standards for bulk food handling, loading and unloading procedures, and prohibits the use of transport vehicles for storage.

These measures are designed to prevent contamination and preserve food quality during transit.
